Swallow’s long-running collaboration with saxophonist and composer Ohad Talmor first took shape in the sextet project L’Histoire du Clochard (The Bum’s Tale), released in 2004. Built around original compositions by Swallow, the music was reimagined—more accurately, deconstructed—by Talmor through an orchestral approach derived from Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat, whose instrumentation inspired both the unusual ensemble configuration (with tenor saxophone replacing the original bassoon) and the project’s title.
